| Welcome to Ian Stewart's racing page. Growing up in a car family I've been into cars and airplanes my entire life. My father raced Mini Coopers In Canada in the 60's and 70's before settling down as an engineer with volvo. His philosophy has always been to understand how to make something better you must first understand how it works. Since a young age I've spent many weekends and nights working with my father on many of his projects from home built airplanes to engine transplants on old MG's. I couldn't wait to get behind the wheel as a teenager and at age sixteen I did my first autocross. It didn't take long to set my sights on winning a National Championship. At age Twenty five in Peter Lier's Porsche 911 GT3 I got my goal of winning an SCCA Solo2 National Championship. Since then many doors have opened in the word of Road Racing and I've campaigned in the One Lap of America, SCCA National Club Racing, NASA Time Trails and hopefully in 2011 the Targa Newfoundland. With an Ultimate goal of going pro racing some day I can't thank my family and friends enough for all their support over the years.
